Job Description

FINCA International, one of the world's leading microfinance institutions, provides financial services to more than 700,000 clients through 21 wholly-owned and operated subsidiaries in Africa, Eurasia, Latin America and the Greater Middle East. FINCA International is currently looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager. The FP&A Manager will lead the financial analysis and planning of FINCA, develop and implement an integrated performance improvement plan and implement new data gathering process.

In terms of financial planning, the FP&A Manager will create an integrated performance improvement plan/strategy for FINCA; develop and maintain inter-company; transfer privacy system; overhead allocation process; move FINCA away from manual and hoc reports towards automated data feeds and standardized transformation process into a data mart; process automated tools and reports to shift manpower from processing to analysis; lead annual budgeting process; maintain rolling forecasts; track actual projected variances and do a monthly commentary on performance and recommendation; manage through regional financial analysts and liaise regularly with field CFO’s for variance commentary; oversee mid year re-forecast process; monthly reporting on budget issues to Executive Committee; providing budget advice, financial counsel to FINCA International CFO; recommend budget procedures and board of director policies; provide budgeting assistance in the preparation of proposals.

In terms of analysis, the FP&A Manager will establish a financial data mart; enable global access – multi-dimensional capability, (geography, time, function); establish regular KPI’s and rolling performance indicators, analyze data for trends. Key ratios; build and maintain projections model (integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow) at multiple subsidiary level, headquarters and consolidated, lead statistical analysis and data manipulating to identify relationships; automate graphic tools and reporting; develop recommendations to improve performance of FINCA &Affiliates; create and manage model for headquarters and country operations to meet the overall planning schedule for the organization and that is particularly sensitive to the field needs for advance notice; lead benchmarking internal and external, lead special analytical projects; value chain analysis; activity based costing, process reengineering; develop and lead analytical team; coordinate, train and provide tools to regional country financial analyst; run sensitivity analysis, scenarios, what if’s, and stress tests; provide technical assistance to countries and regions on budgeting and provide written guidelines and training sessions - travel will be required; policy and procedure development support.

In terms of reporting, the FP&A Manager, will regularly present at Executive Committee and board levels. Become internal expert and leader at FINCA’s financial management; be a major contributor to its financial improvement in financial performance and social mission; develop recommendations to improve the performance of FINCA and affiliates, enable global access; establish automated reconciliation, establish regular KPI’s rolling analysis performance, analyze data for trends and key ratios; multidimensional capability (geography/time/function); preparation of global statistics and corollary analysis as needed

Ideal Profile:
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance (or equivalent experience), CPA and/or MBA are highly desirable,
- Minimum of 5 years of hands on finance experience, including 2-3 years. FP&A management,
- Micro credit and International experience an asset,
- Track record of implementing significant performance changes,
- Ability to perform complex mathematics and accounting processes,
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records; excellent computer literacy is required, in particular using spreadsheets,
- Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills,
- Leadership profile within the company,
- Management experience of a team,
- Strong communications skills (speaking, writing, presentations)
- Need exceptionally effective interpersonal skills , work successfully across functional lines and in a matrix environment,
- Strong staff and relationship management skill needed to effectively interact with staff and bank relationships, respectively,
- MS Access or equivalent (SQL) exposure required,
- English required, proficient in Spanish and or Russian is preferable,
- Up to 20% of international travel required.
