Job Description
THE ROLE
You will join the commissioning team to help commission case studies for online publication in One Health Cases. There are currently four rapidly growing case study products with further plans for expansion. You will research the market, commission authors and work with them through the writing, submission and peer review processes. You will work alongside our experienced team of commissioning editors.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Research subjects and authors to approach to write case studies
- Where agreed, generate a contract and obtain a signed agreement through our digital signing system
- Actively manage the authors to prepare their manuscripts to time, to budget, and to set specifications
- Work with members of the editorial and advisory boards and attend editorial board meetings to generate commissioning leads
- Generate ideas for special issues and identify special collection editors
- Ensure delivery of 5-10 full manuscripts for acceptance per month, supporting the peer review process as needed
- Commission content to enrich the case study, e.g. videos or research data sets if appropriate
- Routinely monitor, report on, and refresh the pipeline schedules
- Attend conferences as needed and promote the case study products to your networks
ABOUT YOU
- 3+ years of proven STM commissioning experience in books or journals, with a focus on human health, animal health, environmental health, one health or plant health subject areas
- An excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
- You will be used to managing digital content such as videos and datasets
- Strong influencing skills
- Able to motivate authors and deal with internal and external stakeholders
- Self-motivated and hard-working
