Fund and Grants Manager
KPMG is a leading provider of professional services including Audit, Tax and Advisory. KPMG’s International Development Advisory Services (IDAS), based in Nairobi, Kenya, adopts a pan-African approach to development work, managing and coordinating programmes and projects throughout Africa to ensure consistency of delivery, results and impact. In particular, we have managed a number of funds and grants on behalf of some of the biggest names in development covering various sectors including agribusiness, health, inclusive finance, governance, education, SME development, youth employment, renewable energy and climate change, among others. Our diverse team comprises people of different professional backgrounds and nationalities, and this mix is fundamental to our success.
We are currently looking for Fund and Grants Managers to support us in the delivery and management of client engagements in the across the above-mentioned sectors. The role will be based in Nairobi, Kenya but would require occasional travel across Africa.
Key roles and responsibilities— Lead engagement teams in delivery of client projects including managing and reviewing outputs, while ensuring full compliance with KPMG’s quality, risk and management requirements.
— Coordinate review of funding requests and budgets from prospective funding recipients including assessment of financial management capacity to provide detailed analysis and recommendations.
— Coordinate monitoring of projects and programmes to assess performance against budgets and work plans, and compliance with funders’ policies, procedures and guidelines.
— Develop quality deliverables for clients including detailed analytical reports.
— Support generation of new business through development of concept notes and proposals.
— Manage teams including allocation of work, performance management, coaching and training.
Qualifications and experience— At least 8 years’ working experience in the international development sector, auditing, grantee management, advisory/consulting and other assurance services.
— A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Social Sciences or similar field and a professional qualification in Accounting (CPA, ACCA or similar);
— Well-developed presentation, proposal and report writing, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;
— Ability to lead and manage a team in a large professional services firm
— Well developed computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office
