Job Title: Gender Advisor, Building Evidence for Decision-Making (BE4D)

Overview: The overall purpose of the Building Evidence for Decision-Making (BE4D) activity is to incentivize evidence use for decision-making via high-quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) and collaboration, learning, and adaptive management (CLA) related services for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Democracy, Development, and Innovation (DDI), as well as other Operating Units (OUs) with whom DDI partners. This evidence may also be used by and benefit local actors and implementing partners. The activity will achieve the overall purpose through the following objectives: Design, Performance Monitoring for Learning and Adaptive Management, Evaluations and other Analyses/Assessments for Learning and Adaptive Management, Training and Advising/Mentoring, Communications, Dissemination, Knowledge Management, and Organizational Learning and CLA.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
This may include support with gender-sensitive performance monitoring, integrating gender and other subpopulations into evaluation designs as relevant; support with designing and implementing gender-sensitive evaluations and/or evaluations of gender equality and women’s empowerment programs; integrating gender into activity/project/program monitoring, evaluation and learning plans; and identifying best practices for integrating gender throughout the program cycle
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Education: An advanced degree in a relevant field such as monitoring and evaluation, women’s studies, gender studies, or international development.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently the company is allowing for remote work due to COVID 19 in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. This can be updated by the company.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.
Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in United States.
