Job Title: Gifts-In-Kind Manager
Status: Full-Time

Islamic Relief is seeking a qualified individual to oversee and implement gifts in kind activity. The GIK Manager will be responsible for planning, securing and following through on Gifts in Kind shipments as well as monitoring that shipments were received at planned locations and went to expected beneficiaries. The purpose of the role is to identify potential donors, develop relationships and acquire valuable donations at the local, regional and national levels. The GIK Manager will also evaluate the impact of IRUSA Gifts in Kind interventions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with the Executive team to ensure effective and efficient distribution of all IRUSA and construction donations.
- Research opportunities and develops relationships with national 3rd party logistic firms and trucking companies to build the infrastructure required to support rapid growth on GIK supply chain.
- Develop strong working relationships with logistic experts on staff on national partners to solicit their expertise in evaluation of current systems and development of long term strategies for continuous improvement.
- Create strategies with specific action plans to achieve individual revenue goals for IRUSA.
- Conducts systematic and ongoing prospecting activities to maintain an adequate pipeline for potential donors.
- Develop personal relationships with senior managers and executives in other non-profit organization.
- Write compelling proposals and oversee development of creative presentations and reports.
- Drive well qualified opportunities through processes and necessary approvals.
- Effectively manage resources including all travel expenses.
- Provide complete and accurate reporting of all data and information required by the Executive team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five (5) years work experience in GIK solicitation particularly from pharmaceutical companies and corporations who donate to disaster relief operations in the US and abroad.
- Experience in fundraising for GIK and non-profit experience is essential.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies
- Knowledge and experience with proposal writing
- Excellent social, interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with culturally diverse staff, program and participants.
- Thorough knowledge of construction-related products and supplies and their application or use.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, analytical, persuasion and mediation skills.
- Ability to network and form partnerships with organizations and business entities outside, representing IRUSA to a broad range of current and potential partners/donors.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, attention to detail and follow up.
- Comfortable identifying potential targets, creating plans to engage the appropriate people at those organizations and closing the deal.
- Thrives in a fast paced environment and managing a number of projects and activities simultaneously.
- The ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects with variable deadlines.
- Excellent team building, leadership and organizational skills.
- Collaboration with multiple IRUSA departments and with outside partners is key.
- Computer literate with the ability to use word-processing, spreadsheet, database, email, web browser and project software.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
