Global Health Supply Chain Consultant

Summary of the Position:

USP seeks several independent consultants for intended work on the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Global Health Supply Chain Technical Assistance (GHSC TA) award. Work under this award supports USP’s Global Health Impact Programs (GHIP), part of the Global Public Health division at USP. Consultants will report directly to the Senior Vice President for Global Public Health.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with internal USP staff to assist in the development and submission of technical proposals for Task Orders (TOs) released by USAID
  • Implements awarded TOs, likely in low and middle income countries with variable frequency and duration
  • Tracks, submits and reports on monitoring and evaluation data per USAID protocols
  • Drafts reports and other documentation, as required

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of global supply chain for health commodities
  • Experience implementing programs in health commodity supply chains in lower and middle-income countries
  • Experience with USAID or other US government-funded programs, particularly as pertains to global health supply chains such as SCMS and DELIVER
  • Knowledge of quality assurance disciplines related to health commodities
  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices, procurement, warehousing, and logistics as pertains to health commodities
  • Knowledge of international regulatory requirements and guidelines for health commodities
  • Ability to establish and nurture relationships and interact with people at different levels and culture
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, with potentially significant frequency and/or duration, and to lower and middle income countries.
  • Results driven with demonstrated successful outcomes
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, pharmacy, logistics, international development or an allied field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in global supply chain, partnering with development assistance, funding agencies, and implementing partners
  • At least three (3) years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated progression in career with increasing responsibilities
  • Candidates with advanced experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Proficiency in another language, preferably French, is highly desired.
