Job Description

ARD, Inc. () requests expressions of interest from highly qualified Congolese specialists interested in joining ARD's team for the Building Recovery and Reform through Democratic Governance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Program. The overall aim of this program is to stabilize eastern DRC and protect civilians through improving the security environment and extending state authority. The program works with those currently on the ground providing peace and stability as well as other donors, and other U.S. Government agencies in Eastern Congo. The project will run for two and a half years.

The Grants Manager is a mid level position that will provide analysis, advice and/or implementation assistance concerning administrative practices and requirements for funds that may be granted under this contract. This position will insure transparency and accountability in the administrative processes of grant recipients and may provide training and technical assistance to recipient NGOs. The Grants Manager provides oversight of grant monitoring and financial execution.

Required qualifications for Grants Manager candidates include:
–DRC citizenship;
–Fluency in French and English;
–Prior experience in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and post-conflict environments;
–5+ years of experience in grants management, including strategic planning, program operations, and systems management;
–Experience with local nongovernmental organization (NGO) accounting and financial management;
–Previous overseas experience with U.S. Government agency or overseeing U.S. Government contracting procedures helpful.
