Job Description
We seek to recruit a Head of Development Donor Partnerships who will lead a team of donor account professional managing our key relationships with DFID, the European Commission, as well as a range of bilateral and multilateral institutions. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for shaping and driving our global development funding strategy, ensuring the highest level of donor engagement while establishing new ways of working, seeking continuous improvements, and providing hands-on leadership in creating and qualifying new business opportunities that will result in greater income, more programme impact, and more influential partnerships with institutional donors.
Oxfam GB’s Programme Funding & Partnerships (PFP) team has a strong global track record of successfully supporting the development of high quality programme funding proposals, generating and supporting restricted donor programme income of more than £250m/year from leading institutional Donors (bilateral and multilateral), trust and foundations. Our Donor Partnerships Team is responsible for leading and coordinating all OGB’s donor engagement, partnership building and resource mobilisation across our humanitarian, development and campaigning programmes.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the team in designing, implementing, and managing proactive donor fundraising strategies that will deliver on Oxfam’s new long-term programme priorities in Women, Work, Water and Inequality.
- Ensuring that Oxfam maintains a strong development pipeline of new business opportunities, proposals, strategic partnerships, and income to sustain the organisation’s long-term development programmes.
- Providing strong leadership, expert knowledge and business support to programme and funding staff throughout the organisation in managing our donor relationships to a high professional standard.
- Ensure that Oxfam GB manages its home donor accounts to maximum benefit for the confederation’s programmes.
What you’ll need
- Significant UK and overseas experience in international development cooperation gained either from working in an international agency at HQ and field-office basis for an INGO like Oxfam, or in a key donor agency like DFID, the EC, or the UN.
- Have direct experience across a variety of institutional donors using a range of traditional and emerging aid modalities and mechanisms, of commercial tendering, and of complex consortia formation involving public sector, academic, NGO and private sector partnerships.
- Proven experience operating at Senior Leadership Team level.
- A successful track record and experience in maintaining and developing key strategic partnerships with a broad range of donor agencies.
- A successful track record and experience in nurturing key stakeholder relationships with a broad range of individuals across the domestic and international development market.
- The gravitas to inspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Significant experience in delivering successful donor proposals, strategic relationships and donor reports to a very high standard.
