Head of Global Operations

Job Description

OneSky’s Head of Global Operations (HGO) will be based in Hong Kong and will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO. The HGO will support the work of the CEO and the Board and be a key player in driving the implementation of OneSky’s strategic goals as well as guiding the optimization of day-to-day operations.

The HGO will also represent OneSky and oversee government affairs in the countries where we work (excluding mainland China) which currently include Hong Kong, Vietnam and Mongolia and potentially two new developing countries in Asia within the next five years.

Our ultimate goal is to build local capacity, eventually enabling each partner country operation to become self-sustaining. The HGO’s most important role is to facilitate this process.

General Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Global Operations team
• Oversee operations in Vietnam, Mongolia, and additional countries in the future
• Support the operations of the OneSky Global Center in Hong Kong
• Supervise, in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, resource allocation
• Establish operational processes/ process improvement
• Ensure all department heads are fully informed of operational objectives
• Ensure activities comply with organizational requirements for quality management, legal stipulations, and general duty of care
• Implement and keep current the written policies that promote company culture and vision

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum of five years of experience at the senior executive level, preferably in the NGO sector

• A record of significant accomplishment in building and managing effective operating models, with a focus on planning and execution
• Analytical skills and orientation toward measurement, outcomes and continuous improvement and learning
• Experience in managing a multi-cultural team across several countries
• Experience in government negotiations
• Experience with an education or child welfare NGO a major plus
