Partnerships for Transforming Health Systems (PATHS) is a £39 million programme of technical assistance, which aims to develop partnerships for transforming health systems in Nigeria. It is funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), & managed by a consortium of five international institutions.
The purpose of the PATHS programme is to improve the delivery & use of effective, replicable, affordable health services for the management of common health problems that affect poor people in Nigeria. PATHS also works with Ministries of Health at Federal, State, & Local Government levels to improve health outcomes by enhancing the governance of the health sector. In addition PATHS is working in partnership with the private sector (for profit & not for profit), civil society, and other development partners.
The Federal Ministry of Health has requested PATHS to provide 10 Senior Technical Advisors to be based within the Ministry with the aim of assisting the FMOH in the achievement of health-related MDGs.
