Honduras Country Representative/Title II Chief of Party
ACDI/VOCA seeks a Country Representative and Chief of Party for its new Title II food aid project in the departments of Copan, Ocotopeque, and Santa Barbara in Western Honduras. The COP will be responsible for the oversight, implementation, and coordination of a sub-grant form World Vision to ACDI/VOCA for a 2-year coffee farming and agri-business project.
Over the course of this project, ADCI/VOCA will train 2,000 smallholder coffee farmers using the Farmer Field School approach. Training will focus on maximizing production quantity and quality, proper post-harvest handling techniques, and organic farm management skills. Training in sampling, business management, processing, and marketing will also be provided to producer groups of coffee, with a focus on production and export of specialty ng will also be provided to 600 fruit and vegetable producer groups in the development and implementation of market-oriented production plans.
Duties Include:
•Establish ACDI/VOCA office in Honduras in coordination with Headquarters Office and within requirements of the Government of Honduras •Oversee coordination between all ACDI/VOCA Honduras activities •Collaborate with consortium partners to coordinate activities and ensure that ACDI/VOCA’s requirements as a sub-grantee are met •In coordination with technical staff, develop training curriculum and schedule •Provide and/or supervise the provision of technical assistance and training, where and when appropriate •Promote and oversee staff capacity-building •Ensure that both USAID and ACDI/VOCA programmatic and financial rules and reporting requirements are followed. •Identify new business opportunities and coordinate new business initiatives with HQ.
Required Background:
•A minimum of 7 years of overseas experiences implementing development projects •Knowledge and record of compliance with USAID regulations and reporting requirements •Experience managing a food aid program desirable •Previous experience implementing training programs; experience with Farmer Field School methodology highly preferred •Previous experience working on an agribusiness and marketing projects; experience in the coffee industry highly preferred •Experience managing and mentoring staff •Experience seeking out new business and working on successful proposals •Fluency in Spanish
