Global Communities is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Program Manager to join the Human Resources Team at our headquarters in Silver Spring, MD. The HR Program Manager reports to the Director of HR and supports the Director in the delivery of HR programs and initiatives including training and development, performance management, policy development and compensation. Primary job responsibilities include:
- Helps to develop the organization’s overall training and development strategy.
- Designs, delivers and manages in house training.
- Oversees the learning management system.
- Manages the mentoring program.
- Manages the redesign of the new employee orientation program.
- Works with the Director to administer the newly designed compensation program.
- Develops, reviews and documents HR policies and procedures applicable to Headquarters, expatriates, third country nationals and local staff. Trains managers and staff on policy guidelines including consulting and advising on policies, procedures, and best practices. Develops internal HR process flow documents.
- Manages the overall performance management process including reviewing interim and annual employee reviews. Provides guidance and advice to managers and staff and conducts training.
Required Skills
- Outstanding presenter with experience in designing and delivering training for a variety of delivery methods (classroom, self-paced, web-based and performance-support job aids) and learning strategies (guided practice, role plays and case studies).
- Strong relationship-building, consultative and influencing skills; and exceptional interpersonal skills to interact and communicate with diplomacy and tact with all levels and backgrounds of staff.
- High degree of judgment and discretion, adaptability, strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team with strong initiative to manage high volume work flow.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communicaiton skills.
- Solid program management and multi-tasking skills.
- Fluency in English, written and oral. Abilities in a second language a plus
- Solid proficiency in MS Office suite.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 5 years of progressively responsible HR Generalist experience, including at the managerial level, with expertise in training and development, performance management, compensation and leadership consultation regarding human resource matters.
- Experience working for an international development/NGO preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- U.S. work authorization.
