Org. Setting and Reporting
The Human Resources Section of the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (“Mechanism”) invites applications for internships starting June 2025. The Mechanism is mandated to perform a number of essential functions previously carried out by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. In carrying out these essential functions the Mechanism maintains the legacies of these two pioneering ad hoc international criminal courts and strives to reflect best practices in the field of international criminal justice. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week.
Responsibilities and Duties
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Section, Associate Human Resources Officer or a staff member in the section to which they are assigned. The intern will manage the Internship Programme, which includes:
The incumbent will ensure a smooth working relationship with potential candidates, other interns and staff members within the Mechanism. Additionally, the Internship Coordinator will assist the Human Resources Section with ad-hoc duties when necessary.
