IESC – the International Executive Service Corps – is a US based not-for-profit with a focus on supporting private enterprise in developing countries. We have worked in partnership with local people in 130 countries - mainly with the generous support of USAID - designing, implementing, managing and evaluating a wide range of market driven solutions along the entire value chain of a company or industry.
Based in Kabul, Afghanistan, the Assistance in Building Afghanistan by Developing Enterprises (ABADE) is a four-year program which commenced in October 2012. ABADE primarily works with the private sector to strengthen the productivity of enterprises focused on sustained growth and job creation. ABADE’s objectives are to increase domestic and foreign investment, stimulate employment, and improve sales of Afghan products. Furthermore, ABADE is designed to complement other USAID programs that are focused on improving the business-enabling environment, increasing the workforce, and facilitating access to finance. ABADE’s alliances with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will accelerate productivity and job creation by mitigating risk, and leveraging contributions from private companies via alliances.
ABADE, along with other international donors, are currently working with an established Afghan ice cream manufacturer to significantly expand their production capacity and corresponding nationwide distribution network. With a major expansion such as this it is vital to have strong internal management systems in place to ensure that quality and standards are maintained across key operational components from production, storage and distribution, to final sales. In light of this, ABADE wishes to recruit an Ice Cream Factory Management and Distribution Expert to assist the company to develop these internal management systems and train the company mangers in their practical implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The objective of this assignment is to support ice-cream related PPA development and implementation. ABADE will utilize expatriate consultant support in the start-up of a new ice-cream production line, as well as provide additional management support and guidance to the partner.
