Functional responsibilities
Under the supervision of the DISHA Product Lead, the ICT Specialist will support scaling, product delivery, and continuous innovation across DISHA’s AI solutions portfolio.
Summary of functions:
Provide scale-up support for existing DISHA solutions (Damage Assessment, Socio Economic Mapping) across stakeholders
Provide Strategic Inputs and Run Rapid Prototyping for future products and features
Support Product Development including through Monitoring & Evaluation of Product Performance
1 Scale-Up of Existing DISHA AI Solutions
Partner onboarding: Coordinate with new UN entities, NGOs, government agencies, and research partners to bring them onto existing DISHA platforms (Damage Assessment, Socio-Economic Mapping).
Adoption support: Provide hands-on technical and operational guidance during early adoption phases, helping partners integrate tools into their workflows.
Feedback loops: Collect, document, and analyze partner feedback to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improved features.
Implementation planning: Develop work plans, milestones, and tracking mechanisms to monitor partner onboarding and solution expansion.
Partner engagement: Support the preparation of tailored pitch decks, progress reports, and impact briefs for donors and partners to secure additional funding for scaling.
2 Strategic Inputs and Rapid Prototyping of New Products/Features
Opportunity scanning: Conduct horizon scans to identify promising use cases, unmet ecosystem needs, and potential collaborations.
Use case design: Translate emerging opportunities into structured problem statements, including expected user groups, technical approach, and feasibility.
Sourcing new ideas: Develop and run structured mechanisms (e.g., challenges, workshops, surveys) to source innovative use cases and product features from partners.
Rapid prototyping: Work with technical colleagues to design and test minimum viable products (MVPs) and prototypes with users.
Business model exploration: Support exploration of sustainability models, such as service packages, cost-sharing, or partnerships that ensure long-term adoption.
Strategic inputs: Provide evidence-based recommendations to the DISHA Lead and Steering Committee for prioritizing new products and features.
3 Product Development, Monitoring and Evaluation
Metrics development: Design and maintain monitoring frameworks, including adoption metrics, technical performance indicators, and social impact measures.
Continuous testing: Coordinate regular usability testing sessions with diverse user groups and ensure feedback informs product iterations.
Data storytelling: Develop engaging dashboards, data visualizations, and narrative reports to communicate product performance to stakeholders at different levels of technical literacy.
Partner engagement: Maintain close collaboration with humanitarian and development actors to align DISHA solutions with operational priorities.
Knowledge sharing: Document lessons learned, best practices, and case studies to inform global AI-for-social-good communities.
Impact reporting: Support internal and external reporting cycles, ensuring evidence of DISHA’s added value is clearly communicated to leadership, funders, and the wider public.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
An advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) or higher degree, preferably in computer science, social sciences, business analytics, economics, or related field.
First-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in the above-mentioned fields with an additional two (2) years of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects in technology, innovation, or data-driven humanitarian/development contexts, or related fields is required.
Experience in growing adoption of advanced data/AI solutions, including translation between client and technical teams and product refinement, is an asset.
Proven track record of designing and implementing data-driven tools, dashboards, and analytics methodologies is an asset.
Experience with designing and executing evaluation frameworks, including data visualizations or dashboards is desired.
Experience with satellite imagery, remote sensing, and geospatial analytics is desired.
Experience with data/AI initiatives for social impact is an asset.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams is an asset.
Full working knowledge of English is required;
Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
