WRI seeks to hire an international consultant who will organize an advanced training on systems dynamics modeling approaches and applied systems thinking with practical hands-on exercises on the theory and tools and their application to better equip the trainee with required level of understanding, knowledge, and skill. This training will be delivered to a group of at least 5 technical Ethiopian experts likely from Ministry of Planning and Development, Ministry of Finance and/or the Environment Protection Authority and up to another 5 experts from WRI or partner institutions.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) therefore corresponds to the activities to be carried out by an international consultant, building on the basics already explored through in country training on basic system thinking and system dynamics modelling The international consultant activities will include the preparation and delivery of a training program on Systems Dynamics and System Thinking.
SCOPE OF WORK AND OUTPUTS/DELIVERABLES
In collaboration with WRI experts, the selected individual consultant will organize and provide technical training to the NCE Ethiopia policy makers and will include the following scope of activities:
Requirements (preferred – the ideal candidate will offer a selection of these competencies)
• Master’s Degree and above forest economics, resources economics, forestry or similar land use science-policy background required;
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in system dynamics, systems thinking modelling approaches
• Experience in working with national and subnational government structures in Ethiopia;
• Experience in planning, organizing and implementing capacity building platforms;
• Experience of working with international teams is a plus; and
• Excellent English drafting reporting skill.
