Scope of Work
The consultant will work closely with Agribusiness Investment Team Project Leaders and will undertake the following: (i) information research; (ii) financial analysis and modeling; (iii) due diligence; (iv) project preparation and processing and related documentation; and (v) business development.
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output
• Acquire industry, market, financial and credit information on targeted companies;
• Conduct financial analysis and prepare financial model;
• Perform risk ratings and pricing on these companies using ADB’s risk-rating model;
• For equity investments, conduct valuations and undertake comparables market analysis;
• Drafts and proposes risk mitigation options through financial structuring.
• Conduct due diligence together with ADB staff.
• Draft concept and Investment Committee papers, technical assistance papers, as well as ADB Board documentation.
• Conduct negotiations of loan, guarantee, and equity documentation together with ADB staff.
• Conduct business development to secure new clients.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance or a related field;
• At least 5 years relevant work experience in corporate finance or commercial/investment banking;
• Experience of conducting due diligence on companies incorporated in and/or with operations in ADB developing member countries;
• Experience of assessing investment opportunities, managing complex due diligence, and negotiating loan/guarantee/equity documentation;
• Strong knowledge of agribusiness sector and country risk analysis;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
• One of the following finance certifications is preferred: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA)
• Willingness to travel.
