How can you make a difference?
Purpose of Activity/Assignment: Online and offline social listening, digital (IoGT) and social media engagement to support SBC interventions
Scope of Work: Under the supervision of the SBC Specialist (P3) and in close coordination with other team members and sections, the consultant will coordinate the online, offline and social media monitoring, rumor tracking and management, online listening, as well as the use of IoGT and social media platforms to support SBC interventions.
Work Assignments Overview: Coordinate the UNICEF offline and online and social media monitoring and rumour management system in close coordination with MISAU social listening WG and RO initiatives and produce monthly reports and analysis of info collected with the social listening exercise.

Work Assignments Overview: Design and coordinate the implementation of evidence-base social media campaign to support SBC interventions and produce systematic reports on SBC social media campaigns

Work Assignments Overview: Coordinate the IoGT platform to promote SBC contents and raise evidence through specific polls. Produce monthly systematic reports and the reach and engagement of IoGT users

Work Assignments Overview: In support to the SBC officer leading the SMS Biz platform, design SMS Biz polls to collect evidence to design and adjust SBC interventions

Work Assignments Overview: Synchronize and use content across various UNICEF platforms such as the Internet of Good Things (IoGT), U-Report, social media and other UNICEF supported digital tools or platforms for effective message dissemination.

Work Assignments Overview: Coordinate the monitoring of UNICEF platforms and systematize data from Kobo application in the SBC platform dashboard to monitor SBC implementation adjust SBC interventions.
Deliverables/Outputs: Reports and finding coming from various digital platforms monthly systematized in the SBC dashboard helpful to design and adjust SBC interventions.

Work Assignments Overview: Disseminate results of impact achieved and findings collected across various UNICEF digital platforms with UNICEF programmes and relevant government institutions and partners.

Minimum Qualifications required:
Education: Bachelors
Disciplines: University degree or equivalent experience in Social Science, Statistics, Communications, Marketing, Data Science and/or Knowledge management. Training in one of these several Social Media and/or Data Science technical competencies: Social media management, Digital monitoring, Business Analytics.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
Work Experience
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Portuguese (verbal and written).

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
