Job Description

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The consultant will be responsible for supporting the optimization and enhancement of added value Naidi-based products production. This will include:

    • Promote technological development and innovation in the nutricosmetic productive sector through improving processes and products, scale-up of production, and commercialization.
    • Strength Selvaceutica production processes, sophistication and/or diversification of the value offer.
    • Carry out market analysis, adding the expansion and/or insertion in new markets that contribute to the economic and social reactivation of the Chocó region.
    • Improvement of Naidi value-added processes (including a single and mixture of other raw materials rather than naidí) for biocosmetics production
EXPERTISE REQUIRED
    • (MANDATORY) Degree in Agro livestock Management, Agronomy, Agronomic Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agroindustrial Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Forest Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Zootechnics, or related fields.
    • A postgraduate course in business, agro livestock management, Rural Development, Agroecological Management, Pedagogy, sustainability, or related fields is an asset.
    • Track record of bioeconomy-related market studies and marketing strategies in at least three (3) products.
    • Knowledge of Colombian bioeconomy focusing in Non-timber forest product of The Chocó Biogeographical Region.
    • A minimum of four (4) years of experience designing or implementing processes and products to valorize underutilized Chocoanian fruits and plants under the biorefinery approach
    • Experience supporting projects for upgrading sales through enhancing stakeholders’ communications on sustainability aspects
    • High commitment and enthusiasm for generating social and environmental change, respecting ancestral traditions of ethnic communities.
    • It will be valued:
      a) Experience working with Afro-Colombian and/or indigenous communities in the country.
      b) Experience working with International Organizations.
      c) Experience in formulating projects Adjusted General Methodology - MGA.
      d) Experience in producing technical reports with criteria of quality and timeliness.
      e) Ability to work with results in a self-managed way.
    • Mandatory) the applicant must live in Quibdó or shall be able to carry out the consultancy from there during the consultancy timeframe.
