Scope of Work
The consultants will support the Human and Social Development – Social Development Team of ADB to finalize and roll-out the revised poverty and social analysis tools in ADB to ensure that the poverty and social analysis of ADB-funded projects are aligned with the SDGs and ADB Strategy 2030. The consultants will also provide advice to the project teams on identifying and addressing challenging poverty and social development issues to ensure consistency with OP 1, as well as develop sectoral-focused tipsheets, and capture best practices and lessons learned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
• A university degree in applied Social Science, e.g., Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Development, or Human Geography or other related fields, preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent.
• At least 10 years (or 8 years with a postgraduate degree) of relevant professional experience in designing and implementing poverty and social analysis and social assessments.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of poverty and social development issues in several Asian countries.
• Good knowledge of the operations of multilateral development organizations and executing agencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• International experience working in development in several countries.
