Job Description

AIR is currently seeking a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Expert to join our proposed bid for the evaluation of a Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-funded TVET Activity in Cote d’Ivoire. The $525 million Activity aims to increase economic growth by investing in the education and transportation sectors. AIR will bid on the evaluation of the education portion which will include building 3-4 new private sector-run TVET centers, organizing a tracer study to track TVET graduates, and a new national accreditation system. AIR will contract directly with the TVET Expert under an independent consultant agreement.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Use knowledge of the TVET landscape in Cote d’Ivoire to contribute to the evaluation design.
  • Review evaluation documents and reports for contextual and subject matter accuracy.
  • Support quantitative and qualitative data collection, including reviewing survey instruments and guides, attending enumerator training, and helping to facilitate interviews.
Qualifications

Qualifications for being a TVET Expert include the following:

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in the TVET field
  • Master’s degree in any field
  • Experience working with US Government Development Agencies (experience with MCC preferred)
  • Experience with connecting with relevant government ministries in Cote d’Ivoire
  • Experience with data collection (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Local to Cote d’Ivoire (preferred) or West Africa
