Duties and Responsibilities
The internship opportunity at the ESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SRO-ENEA) located in Songdo, Incheon, Republic of Korea, spans a minimum duration of three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months as deemed necessary by the office.
This internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week, totaling 40 hours per week, under the supervision of a designated staff member in their assigned office.
Intern responsibilities will focus on supporting the North-East Asian Subregional Programme for Environmental Cooperation (NEASPEC), with a particular focus on Low Carbon Cities (LCC).
The intern will contribute to preparations for major activities planned for 2026. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Masters or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelors, Masters or PH.D. Programme.

Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
