Job Description

Background:

  • The work of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB) focuses on a range of security issues, from countering terrorism, border security and transnational threats such as human trafficking, to developing the country’s regions, strengthening efforts to combat corruption on all levels, as well as supporting the reform of the justice sector, implementation of election reform, gender equality and building open and resilient societies.
  • The Fund Administration Unit (FAU) of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB) is looking for a local intern for its Human Resources Section. The successful candidate will undertake an unpaid internship for a period of up to six months, subject to the satisfactory performance by the incumbent.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The selected intern will have the opportunity to gain an overview/familiarize themselves with the general HR procedures at the OSCE, with focus on learning and development practices. Under the overall supervision of the HR team, the intern will be requested to carry out the following duties:

  • Perform a wide range of administrative tasks, including preparing and processing administrative requests and documents;
  • Maintain and update internal databases with new employee information, such as contact details and employment forms;
  • Organize, file, and manage HR documents;
  • Perform other work-related duties as required by the supervisor.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Be between 19 and 30 years old and have completed a first or advanced degree in a field relevant to the OSCE’s mandate no longer than two years ago by the date of the deadline of the vacancy notice;
  • Citizenship or permanent residence in Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Studies in an academic field related to the OSCE portfolio;
  • Fluency in English and Russian with excellent communication skills;
  • Fluency in Kyrgyz language would be an important asset;
  • Strong interest in human resources and/or business administration management;
  • Strong interest in business/HR software tools;
  • Excellent IT knowledge, familiarity with Microsoft Office and Internet applications;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;

Remuneration Package:

The OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay nor reimburse travel expenses.

The selected intern may participate in the group health insurance scheme at his/her own expense, but the OSCE will cover life and accident/disability insurance. If the intern opts to arrange his/her own medical coverage, he/she shall provide evidence of medical coverage for the duty station he/she applies to, and for any eventual duty trip destinations. The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE.
