Set up in 2010 by the 194 countries who are Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), GCF takes its responsibility as the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund to heart. GCF funds transformative climate projects across the developing world, supporting countries in their responses and actions to tackle climate change while fostering sustainable development within their communities.

Besides channeling public and private sector investment through a broad range of financing instruments, GCF builds the capacity of developing countries to take climate action through an extensive Readiness Programme ensuring countries are increasingly well-equipped and financed to manage their climate futures.

Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Office of Governance Affairs (OGA). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his knowledge by obtaining hands-on experience in office management and gaining insight into the inner operations of a team working in governance.​ The intern will support preparing and organizing Board meetings and events and assisting the OGA Director.​

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the ​OGA​, the Intern is expected to work closely with the OGA Director and team assistant and provide support in:

• overall logistics coordination of Board meetings, technical sessions and events (including the preparations);
• general administrative tasks, such as managing and organizing electronic and physical documentation and filing, managing shared folders, controlling access to virtual and in person meetings, etc.;
• coordinating team events and activities, including contacting suppliers, setting up the venue, and organizing logistics aspects, etc.; and
• any other tasks or projects as required.

Requirements and qualifications

• Enrolled in a Master’s program in ​business, finance, climate change, sustainability​ or related fields;
• Knowledge and experience with ​investments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.​
• Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
• Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
• Excellent writing and presentation skills;
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular Korean, is an advantage.
