Africa50 is an infrastructure investor and asset manager that contributes to Africa’s growth by developing and investing in bankable projects, catalysing public sector capital, and mobilizing private sector funding.
Africa50 has raised over US$1 billion so far from 33 African countries, the African Development Bank, two African Central Banks and Africa’s largest pension fund. Africa50 has an independent investment process and seeks to generate commercial risk adjusted returns for its investments across key infrastructure sectors: Energy (including power generation and related parts of the value chain), Midstream gas, Transportation, ICT, Health infrastructure, Education and Fintech.
Purpose of the Role
This internship within the Transport vertical of our Project Development team, allows you to be a part of the growth story of a dynamic and growing pan-African organization. You will learn the fundamentals of infrastructure project development and improve your financial modelling skills, within an entrepreneurial environment. Interns are fully integrated in the team and have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of projects.
Principal Responsibilities
- Support the development and audit of financial models for infrastructure investments and portfolio companies
- Conduct industry, market and company research
- Assist in the execution of Africa50’s project development investments
- Prepare project-related documents for internal and external audiences
- Assist in all aspects of Africa50’s project lifecycle from project development to disbursement
- Support the investment team in non-core investment activities (marketing, corporate initiatives, etc.)
Candidate Profile
Required background
- Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure development, project finance, transaction advisory, or strategy consulting firms. Prior experience in the power or transport sector is a plus,
- Currently pursuing or due to graduate within 12 months with an MBA, MSc or Bachelor (or equivalent) from a reputable university

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Interest in Africa50’s mission, strategy and values
- Fluent in English and French
- Demonstrated interest / experience in emerging markets, and specifically Africa
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of financial modelling is a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Understanding of project finance including PPP project structuring is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with partners and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Culturally sensitive, able to relate to people of diverse backgrounds
Duration and Location
- The position will be based in Casablanca.
- 6-month internship offered from May 2026.
