Job Description

Do you want a meaningful internship and make a difference for young people who have fled to Denmark? Do you want to work in a youth organization that engages volunteers throughout the country? Then come in for an internship at DFUNK – Danish Refugee Council Youth in the spring of 2026.

NB! Language requirement: As all our communication is in Danish, you must be able to write and speak in Danish to be considered for this position. Applications in other languages will not be considered.

We offer:
  • Independent and versatile work tasks.

  • Good opportunities to make your mark and develop new skills.

  • Practical experience from the NGO industry that can bring you closer to your dream job.

  • Meaningful and motivating work in a young, fun and social environment.

Positions in spring 2026:
  • Local Communities: Local Communities are DFUNK’s social communities, which every year engage thousands of young people with and without refugee experiences through events, food and sports communities throughout the country. We are experiencing a high demand for our communities, and we are therefore looking for two interns who will support existing social communities, work with volunteer coordination, recruit and retain volunteers, engage in dialogue with partners and start new social communities. In the fall, we will hold DFUNK’s first volunteer academy, where we will gather all volunteers in the country and you, as an intern, will be involved in the development and implementation.

  • Voices outside the box: Voices outside the box engages young people with refugee experiences who, through our creative opinion-forming course, Uttaler, and our Narrator Network, express their opinions, attitudes and stories on their own terms. This spring, we are looking for one or two interns who will help lift the next Uttaler course, help run a festival we are putting together with music, talks and exhibitions, and help work on elements for various events, products, publications and exhibitions that will take place during 2026. Get more insight into the project via stemmerudafboksen.dk.
We imagine that:
  • You are currently pursuing a relevant higher education degree.

  • You are outgoing, proactive and happy to be part of youth communities.

  • You are interested in project management, volunteer coordination and want to gain experience in facilitating workshops and running events.

  • You have the courage to continuously evaluate and quality assure our activities.

Period and working hours:

The internships are expected to last from January to June. The working hours are generally 30-37 hours per week, and we expect you to be flexible regarding weekend and evening work. We are flexible in terms of organizing the work so that it is related to your studies. If you are the perfect candidate for the internship position, we can also accommodate a lower number of hours, so we encourage you to apply regardless. Unfortunately, we do not offer a salary during the internship. Your workplace will be at our secretariat at Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.
