The National Society Development and Coordination Division is in turn organised in into three Departments, each of them led by a Director. National Society Development Services Department (NSDS) is one of the departments comprising the unit on Organizational Transformation (OT) with responsibility for the support provided by the Secretariat to its members to become agile, adaptive, well performing and competitive humanitarian organizations. This internship position will liaise with this unit.
Job Purpose: As part of the Organizational Transformation Unit (OT unit), the IFRC NSD Competency Framework (NSD CF) data analysis Intern will play an important role to analyse the data generated from the NSD CF self-assessment, contribute to providing feedback and inform the shaping of NSD CF development programmes through analyzed data, and support and make necessary adjustments to the existing programmes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Data support:
- Analysing the raw data generated from the NSD CF E-learning and Self-assessment course, visualizing the results, and generating valuable and meaningful insights in the form of dashboards, such as PowerBI, and reports accessible to IFRC secretariat senior management as well as to other National Societies utilising the self-assessment course.
- Serves as the liaison point between OT unit and IFRC Learning and development team to access data and necessary information to allow analysing data generated from the NSD CF E-learning and self-assessment course.
- Updating dashboards and reports as well as communicating insights to support presentations and improve decision making of the OT unit.
- Provide insight and use of AI across the process wherever possible.
- Share knowledge and act as a subject matter resource on data analysis and research on wider topics covered by the OT unit and use 30% of its time to other OT unit initiatives to enable cross learning and bring synergy with works across the unit.
- Logistical support:
- Contribute to coordinating working groups and stakeholders related to the NSD CF under the guidance of the Sr. Officer for Organisational Transformation.
- Any other duties assigned by the Sr Officer for Organisational Transformation.
- Duties applicable to all staff:
- Actively work towards the achievement of the Federation Secretariat’s goals.
- Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles.
- Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
Management: The intern will report to the Manager OT unit for all contract related matters. Would work closely and supervised by the OT Senior Officer.

Experience
- Required
- Previous experience in analysing data related to organizational development, human resources, or learning and personal development programmes.
- Previous experience in data analysis and empirical research; demonstrated experience with gathering, monitoring, and analysing data and using those to continuously improve actions and decision makings; demonstrated expertise on data visualization and data inferences.
- Preferred: Experience in engaging with learning and personal development programmes or studies.
Knowledge, Skills and Languages
- Required
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to effectively use AI tools and approaches (e.g., for data analysis, automation, insight generation) to enhance analytical workflows.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, acting as one of the main points of contact for the NSD CF programmes.
- Ability to create clear and engaging communication content (e.g., infographics, summaries, presentations) to share data insights with diverse audiences.
- Skills to use: Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, POWER BI. Further use Questionnaire and statistical skills and command of standard software packages for analyzing data (e.g., R, Python, Stata), and/or a strong willingness to develop these skills further.
- Preferred: Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic).
