Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Economist, the intern will support the Financial Landscape for Development project, acting as a research assistant with the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct desk reviews and data collection.
  • Update existing information.
  • Support online research related coordination tasks, including expert interviews.
  • Document and follow up on discussions and agreements.
  • Contribute to the drafting of the Financial Landscape for Development Report.
  • Produce two policy briefs and design templates for future updates.
  • Support organization and documentation of meetings and interviews, including surveys, questionnaires, aide memories, and notes of agreements.
  • Prepare inputs and background materials for meetings.
  • Assist in coordination of online tasks and follow up activities.
  • Contribute to planning and logistics for events and consultations as needed.

Qualifications/special skills

  • To be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme.
  • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
  • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s.
  • Good command of standard software applications, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to draft basic concept notes and contribute to documentation and knowledge products.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable.

Languages
Fluent in Spanish is required, English an advantage.
