JOB PURPOSE
Amnesty International is seeking a Resource Allocation Mechanism (RAM) Project Intern to support the effective coordination of its grant-making processes that provide financial and technical support to national entities. This role will focus on assisting the Movement Building Programme in coordinating Amnesty’s Resource Allocation Mechanism (RAM), working closely with finance, fundraising, and national entities to ensure transparency, efficiency, and compliance with organizational objectives.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual to gain experience in project coordination, grant management, and global movement building within one of the world’s leading human rights organizations.
Please note this is a fixed-term internship position for a duration of 12 months.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the coordination of the RAM grant-making process, ensuring efficiency and transparency in collaboration with the Movement Building and Finance teams.
- Lead logistical planning and organization of the Redistribution Committee’s work programme.
- Support the RAM grant due diligence process, including evaluating funding requests from national entities.
- Assist in the communication strategy for RAM, ensuring national entities are well-informed and supported throughout the process.
- Draft and coordinate the communication of RAM decision letters and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
- Track RAM allocations, contingency funding requests, and reporting requirements to ensure timely payments and compliance.
- Lead on specific projects or assignments as required, in consultation with the line manager.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Awareness of the needs, opportunities, and constraints of a global membership organization.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrable experience in handling data sets to support reporting and decision-making.
- Proficiency in Excel and/or other data analysis tools.
- Demonstrable experience in project coordination, logistics, and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain cooperative relationships in a multicultural environment.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- A relevant academic background in social sciences, international development, public policy, business, economics, or finance (completed or in progress).
- Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of French, Arabic, or Spanish is an advantage.
