Position: IT Procurement & Supplier Manager, IT

Type : 6 months fixed term contract

Location: Work from home

About the role

This role sits within the IT Team. The IT Procurement & Supplier Manager reports to the Head of IT and Cyber Security and is accountable for the day-to-day management and coordination of technology supply and supplier relationships, governance, facilitation of new initiatives, and sourcing decisions.

The IT Procurement & Supplier Manager will manage the day-to-day contractual and financial management of suppliers, overseeing IT suppliers and core IT partners, including ensuring all commitments are monitored and delivered promptly. The IT Procurement & Supplier Manager will propose changes to contracts and suppliers that add value to ASI monthly.

The IT Procurement & Supplier Manager will also be responsible for providing all relevant procurement documentation required for good governance and maintain the IT Procurement Policy to ensure it complies with company policies.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • To build a strategic relationship between IT and its key IT suppliers,
  • Contribute to delivering a robust governance structure, align with the contractual commitments with IT suppliers, and encourage appropriate innovation and development,
  • To help define, manage, and assist with the supplier management governance processes and procedures,
  • Provide day-to-day financial reporting for IT suppliers,
  • Accountable for identifying and coordinating the execution of appropriate corrective actions if the operational performance is unsatisfactory,
  • To lead input into and influence the development of the overall IT sourcing strategy,
  • Manage contract renegotiation and change request processes whilst ensuring ongoing compliance with the existing contract,
  • Build collaborative working relationships with the IT suppliers account management teams,
  • Forecast levels of demand for services and products,
  • Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality,
  • Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors,
  • Negotiate and agree on contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided,
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams to ensure requirements are delivered appropriately,
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are achieved or exceeded,
  • Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements,
  • Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services,
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy,
  • Ensure suppliers are aware of ASI’s business objectives,
  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology to impact the business.
