Mines to Markets (M2M) - Pact’s Mines to Markets Signature Initiative assists mineral-dependent communities to gain lasting benefits from the more sustainable use of the natural resources around them. Pact takes an integrated approach to its work in the mining sector: we link mining to livelihoods, governance, health, environment, and the strengthening of local, regional and national institutions. The M2M program is currently active in eleven countries, working with all scales of mining from large scale industrial operations (LSMs) to individual Artisanal and Small-scale Miners (ASMs) and their communities, in remote areas. Position Overview
Pact seeks to recruit a reporting officer for our Mines to Market programs. Reporting to the ITSCI Program Manager, the reporting officer acts as key point of contact in the management of reporting including incidents occurring on the ITSCI supply chain. The International Tin Supply Chain Initiative (ITSCI) is a traceability and due diligence program implemented by governments of the Great Lakes Region to allow minerals to be traded internationally, in respect with the requirements of the US Dodd Franck Act, the EU Regulation on Conflict Minerals and the OECD Due Diligence guidance for responsible supply chain.
The reporting officer position is a 12-month assignment with possibility to extend providing funding is available. This position can be home based worldwide. The candidate must have excellent connectivity to internet and speak and write fluent both English and French.
