Job Opportunities in Climate Change – Asia Urban Climate Resilience

Abt Associates, a major American research, technical assistance, and international development company, seeks highly qualified candidates for a potential USAID-funded urban climate resilience program in Asia. This new, five-year activity will help increase the capacity of secondary cities in Asia, through targeted technical assistance and capacity strengthening, will develop technically sound and investment-worthy adaptation project proposals, and will connect secondary cities to public and private sources of climate funding/finance.

Minimum qualifications for candidates include a university degree in a relevant field; six years of professional experience; and fluency in English.

Specialties of particular interest include:

  • Climate finance and project preparation
  • Urban development
  • Climate resilient infrastructure development
  • Climate risk and vulnerability assessment, particularly in urban settings
  • Regional, national, and local climate adaptation planning
  • Climate mitigation strategies
  • Sustainable and green infrastructure and buildings
  • Building of private sector, civil society, and public sector partnerships
  • Knowledge management
  • Capacity building and institution building
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Communications
  • Gender analysis
  • Grants management
