Junior Drafting Officer

1. Background

The Tsunami of  which struck Tamil Nadu caused enormous damage to life and property in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.  The death toll is 7995, more than 17000 animals perished, thousands of people lost their houses and lakhs of people lost their livelihood.  The coastal economy has been devastated due to loss of fishing gear and damage to infrastructure.

The World Bank and Asian Development Bank have approved the Emergency Tsunami Reconstruction Project and the Tsunami Emergency Assistance Project respectively to repair damaged houses and provide for multi hazard resistant houses, reclaim agricultural lands, strengthen fisheries infrastructure, strengthen animal husbandry infrastructure, restore damaged public infrastructure, create green shelterbelts, undertake scientific studies in the affected coastal areas, repair and upgrade trunk infrastructure, restore livelihoods, repair and upgrade municipal and rural infrastructure.

2. Overall Goal and Objectives

The overall objective of hiring the Junior Drafting Officer is to help the Project Implementation Unit in preparation of all types of estimates under TEAP and ETRP and coordinate with the district units in the implementation of the World Bank, ADB and IFAD assisted projects.

3. Specific Objectives:

1. Preparation of model estimates in various type of Building constructions. 2. Checking of datas in all type of estimates under TEAP and ETRP Schemes 3. To assist Assistant Engineer/Senior Drafting Officer for verification of concept report, Bid evaluation report, Bid documents etc.
