Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Kenya Country Program, to support the team by enabling all required operations, ranging from human resources, finance, procurement, travel, to any other administrative related requirements. To carry out his/her role, the intern will report directly to Head of the Kenya Program and will engage with other staff of the Finance & Corporate Services (FCS) at GGGI’s regional office and headquarter, when required.

INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

The assignment will include the following but not limited to:

  • Support the onboarding process for new staff, including preparation of necessary materials and coordination of logistics.
  • Assist with the planning and organization of meetings, seminars, workshops, and other events for the Kenya Country Program.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including identifying suitable vendors, preparing value-for-money quotations, and supporting vendor selection in line with program requirements.
  • Manage event-related tasks such as sending invitations, registering participants, making travel arrangements, and supporting on-site coordination during events.
  • Provide support to the event coordinator, including preparing meeting minutes, post-event evaluations, and follow-up documentation.
  • Assist in the development and administration of procurement plans and requisition processes, in alignment with the annual work plan and budget of the Kenya Country Program.
  • Support invoice processing and payment requests, including workflow tracking, vendor communication, and documentation.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative duties and contribute to the effective management of office space and resources.
ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
  • Possess an excellent command of English.
QUALIFICATION
  • Good understanding of public administration, economics, finance, or an interest and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines, and to perform various tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to deliver results on time.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • International exposure and interest in Africa.

SELECTION PROCESS
