Job Description

The purpose of this three country Targeted Evaluation contract is to assess adherence in a sample of PEPFAR (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) supported programs. It is expected that the results of this evaluation will inform the design of effective adherence strategies and ultimately contribute to the capacity of countries to provide high quality HIV/AIDS treatment.

The primary emphasis for support is anticipated to be in Nigeria, Uganda and South Africa. This particular position will be based in South Africa. All appointments to this position are also contingent on the contracting agency confirming country selection.

Positions are contingent upon contract being awarded to Futures Group, a Constella Company. Futures Group would act as the Prime Partner in this activity. Expected length of project commitment is at least 2 years. These positions are for Personal Services Contracts (PSCs) that are renewed annually.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for overseeing the in country targeted evaluation effort and is the prime contact with the Project Director in the United States
  • Manage all issues related to data collection, data management, IRB issues and communication with evaluation sites
  • Responsible for relationship building with study sites
  • Responsible for data collection at study sites, patient chart review and extraction, managing in-depth interviews and other qualitative data collection activities
  • Responsible for all bio-marker data collection management and ensuring biologic measures of adherence are facilitated with in-house site laboratories or contracted laboratories
  • Responsible for ensuring local IRB approval as stipulated in contract with project Contracting Agency
  • Responsible for data management activities and electronic data files and communication networks
  • Responsible for managing and training other adherence team members associated with the evaluation project

    Required Experience:

  • Expected to have an intimate familiarity with the host country, its Antiretroviral Therapy Program (ART) programs and PEPFAR funded activities
  • Knowledge of activities as outlined above
  • Research experience in qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Experience working in PEPFAR environment
  • Fluency in English required. Local language speakers preferred
  • Local nationals are encouraged to apply

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Clinical experience (nursing or medical) required preferably with ART delivery and treatment
