Job Description

AECOM is recruiting for a new project in South America entitled: Promotion of Best Environmental and Social Management Practices. The purpose of this activity is to facilitate multi-stakeholder agreement on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the four priority sectors (hydro-power, roads, oil and gas, and mining), and then support the promotion, implementation, and monitoring/enforcement of these BMPs in the Amazon region. Countries of performance may include: Peru, Colombia and Brazil. All the below positions are technical with a strong preference for South American nationals from these three countries. Fluency in Spanish is a requirement for opportunities in Colombia and Peru. Brazilian Portuguese is a requirement for opportunities in Brazil.

Knowledge Management Specialist with experience gathering, generating, and disseminating knowledge, as well as promoting learning on the adoption of best social and environmental practices for the mitigation of negative effects from large projects in the Amazon.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant knowledge management experience working with institutions regionally, nationally, and sub-nationally to generate, document, and disseminate knowledge, preferably in the amazon region
  • Degree in information management, information architecture design, technical communications, or related discipline
  • Practical experience developing and/or maintaining web-based platforms to support technical communities of practice
  • Practical experience developing information and knowledge management tools in one or more technical disciplines such as climate change adaptation, environmental management, sustainable livelihoods development, and/or biodiversity conservation
  • Related experience gathering and disseminating evidence-based monitoring information, best practices, innovative models, and lessons-learned
  • Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese
