Project
Palladium is the preferred bidder for the DFAT funded Australia Pacific Climate Change Action Program (APCCAP) Support Unit. This program seeks to increase the effectiveness of Australia’s support for climate change action and disaster resilience in the Pacific. APCCAP builds on long running climate change and disaster information programs, drawing on established regional and international knowledge about effective climate mitigation, adaptation and broader disaster resilience.

Role
We are currently recruiting for the position of Knowledge Manager to join the APCCAP team based in Canberra, upon commencement of the contract. Reporting to the APCCAP Team Leader, the Knowledge Manager will support knowledge brokering and take responsibility for improving the generation and sharing of evidence-based knowledge in inclusive climate action and disaster resilience.

Some of the main responsibilities of this role will include:
* Develop and implement a stakeholder-specific learning strategy which facilitates the documentation and dissemination of country-specific, region-specific and global climate data, lessons learned and best practice for integrating climate resilience and disaster risk reduction (DRR) methods;
* Lead the coordination and implementation of knowledge management systems for the APCCAP Support Unit, ensuring institutional learning is both captured accessible;
* Work across APCCAP to build a knowledge sharing culture;
* Support information brokering to ensure the accessibility and usability of information for end users:
* Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the APCCAP website;
* Work proactively with the APCCAP Support Unit and partners to identify opportunities for capturing and disseminating information regarding major progress and results;
* Ensure all APCCAP communications are updated promptly and accurately to provide stakeholders with the most updated and best practice advice;
* Facilitate linkages between stakeholders to ensure dissemination of best practice climate resilience and DRR;
* Ensure adherence to APCCAP Support Unit policies and procedures, including responsibility for documenting and updating of policies and procedures as it relates to knowledge management.

Requirements
* Tertiary degree related to science, communication or related fields;
* Previous experience developing and implementing knowledge and/or communication strategies for climate change, DRR, resilience building or related fields;
* Demonstrated experience in communicating research and learning using science communication approaches in a development context;
* Understanding of how to effectively translate technical scientific information into practical tools and knowledge;
* Understanding of DFAT aid policies and strategies;
* Proven ability in thinking and working politically;
* Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives;
* Professional commitment to promote a culture of gender equality and social inclusion;
* Ability to provide advisory services, coaching and mentoring to the diverse stakeholders in government, civil society and the private sector;
* Strong cross-cultural communication skills, both oral and written;
* Proven ability to develop and maintain professional, cross-sectoral networks;
* Highly developed negotiation and problem solving skills.
