The UK-PHRST Learning Design Manager is a pivotal post and will lead on instructional design, development of technical opportunities and delivery of remote, hybrid and online courses, while working cohesively with the team to achieve the wider set of UK-PHRST Capacity Strengthening strategic objectives.
The post-holder will co-create and deliver a dynamic, needs-responsive offer of professional development and learning activities, working in collaboration with partner organisations and UK-PHRST subject matter expert colleagues. They will enhance the design and delivery of methodological approaches, including the use of up-to-date tech platforms to deliver high quality, engaging, interactive courses, workshops, simulations and evaluation processes with partners.
As a learning and development designer, the postholder will have a sound knowledge of current recommended practices in web design and accessibility, as well as a multi-media skillset. Adept at applying learning design, with digital and visual principles, they will help to co-create courses and content that is engaging, creative, innovative and pedagogically sound. They will demonstrate their expertise and experience in the arenas of learning design to support continuous professional development and education, including the use of face-to face, remote, online and e-learning platforms, tailoring content to suit each of these delivery modes.
The post holder will work with subject matter experts in epidemiology, microbiology, and other public health disciplines. They will work in collaboration with in-country partners and teams (e.g., national organisations/institutes, Africa CDC, the WHO, etc) to identify, tailor, develop and deliver capacity strengthening initiatives that meets the stakeholder needs and preferences.
