Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for undertaking a range of moderate complexity legal assignments in support of the Bank’s activities, including public and private sector financings (including Public Private Partnership and non-sovereign guaranteed financing) , special and trust funds, contract management, government regulations, contractual agreements, by supporting the direct reports.

Key Accountabilities:

Legal Services Provision:

  • Handle matters of moderate complexity in connection with the legal operations processes of moderate complexity in connection with public-sector transactions, operations’ policies and operations procurement, private-sector and other non-sovereign transactions, , special and trust funds, resource mobilization.

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Staff of the Section and to other departments with respect to matters of legal operations.

  • Assist in the negotiation, reviewing, drafting, clearing and amendment of legal documents and agreements related to the bank’s activities.

  • Assist in the definition and development of the legal operations policies, procedures and programs and assist on legal matters and on legal implications of all matters handled by Staff of the Section.

  • Participate in ensure that the Bank, comply with the applicable laws and regulations.

Operational Excellence & Knowledge Share:

  • Keeps abreast with the latest developments, and leading practices in the legal support field and propose necessary improvements.

  • Propose and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness and compliance of the related operations.

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of periodic reports as per management requirements.

Academic and professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the legal matters in International / Islamic Banking and Finance, Trade Finance, Corporate Law, Development Law and Public International Law.

  • Master’s degree in relevant field is preferred.

  • Master’s degree in Law is equivalent to 2 years of experience.
