Job Description
PYXERA Global, an NGO based in Washington, DC will be managing two Global Pro Bono programs around Hanoi and Hai Phong, Vietnam scheduled to take place from March through November, 2017. PYXERA Global is hiring an experinced consultant currently residing in Hanoi or Hai Phong to help with overall program management, and provide project and logistical support to the selected teams of corporate consultants. One of the programs will take place over the course of two weeks in Hanoi exclusively; and the other will be a combination of weekly virtual consulting assignments and two one-week stays in Hanoi and/or Hai Phong over the course of 5-6 months. Both programs will have several teams paired with local organizations in Hanoi and Hai Phong. This position would be involved with all aspects of the project.
The selected consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:
ACTIVITIES
- Identify and select potential local partners (NGO, social enterprise, university, etc.) and develop project Scopes of Work that are aligned with specific areas of intervention identified by PYXERA Global and our corporate clients;
- Orient new program participants upon arrival in Vietnam;
- Serve as logistics coordinator and an informational resource for participants and troubleshoot problems they may face;
- Recruit and hire Project Assistants (If applicable) to support corporate consultants with translation, research and interviews;
- Participate in weekly phone calls with corporate teams and their local partners
- Coordinate Pre-Departure Orientation, Welcome and Final Events for corporate employees and local partners;
- Correspond regularly with PYXERA Global headquarters program staff and other stakeholders to assure the satisfaction the participants and our corporate clients;
- Monitor and advise on security arrangements for participants prior to arrival and while they are in Vietnam;
- Capture and share success stories and lessons learned that strengthen PYXERA Global’s existing and planned programs with organizations, partners, and stakeholders through social media and other avenues as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Must be based in Hanoi or Hai Phong, Vietnam
- College degree in international relations, communications, project management, organizational development, NGO management, or related field;
- Experience in project management and in leading multicultural groups;
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
- Experience working with cross cultural teams and/or skills-based volunteer programs
- Ability to multi-task and manage diverse tasks simultaneously
- Flexible and able to work in a team as well as individually with limited supervision.
- Exceptional writing skills and ability to develop scopes of work with limited supervision
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in virtual and in-person presentation skills
- Knowledge of one or more critical topics in global development (i.e. quality education, gender, WASH, waste management, or other environmental issues)
- Knowledge of at least one specific technical area related to PYXERA Global’s programs and services (pro bono, leadership/talent development, public private partnerships, monitoring and evaluation, corporate social responsibility, etc.)
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem solving skills
- Language proficiency in both English and Vietnamese;
- Ability to work in teams and alone, and demonstrated commitment to creating opportunities for improved livelihoods preferred.
SALARY:
This is a part time consultant position with an estimate timeline of 7-8 months. Pay is based on past experience and the type of work required for this position.
