Job Description
PYXERA Global, an NGO based in Washington, DC will be managing an international corporate volunteer program in Lusaka, Zambia, scheduled to take place in August – October 2015. During this time, PYXERA Global’s communications department will be developing a promotional video and photo shoots of the project and requires logistical assistance in coordinating supporting activities. PYXERA Global would like to hire a consultant currently residing in Lusaka to provide project and logistical support to the team of PYXERA Global Staff during July and August 2015.
The selected consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:
ACTIVITIES
- Assist in procuring secure accommodations and transportation for PYXERA Global staff in Lusaka and at project sites in Lundazi and Choma as needed on arrival and for the duration of their stay
- Accompany PYXERA Global staff to meetings, interviews and video/photo shoots in Lusaka, Lundazi, or Choma, as needed
- Manage travel logistics for PYXERA Global staff while they are in Zambia, which includes airport transfers, field travel from Lusaka to project sites in Lundazi and/or Choma, and travel within project site cities
- Act as the on-the-ground interface between PYXERA Global and local partners in Zambia
- Participate in conference calls for project planning with PYXERA Global staff and local partners as needed
- Act as a logistical and informational resource for PYXERA Global staff and troubleshoot on problems they may face
- Correspond with PYXERA Global headquarters program staff and other stakeholders to assure activities are aligned and planned for arrival of staff
- Monitor and advise on security arrangements for PYXERA Global staff when they are in Zambia
- Prepare financial reports for assignment-related costs
DESIRED SKILLS
- Degree in communications, project management, tourism, or related field
- Experience in project management and in leading multicultural groups
- Currently residing in Lusaka
- Attention to detail and people oriented
- Exposure and experience in the NGO sector a plus
- Excellent proficiency in English
