Manager - Information and Knowledge Management Services
Tetra Tech ARD. () an International Consulting Services firm has an immediate opening for a Manager for our Information and Knowledge Management Services (IKMS) Team. The IKMS portfolio includes all applications, websites, and systems that provide business value to the firm. Key objectives of this position are to provide for coordination and synchronization among all Tetra Tech ARD Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Knowledge Management activities at the home office and in the field, providing day-to-day supervision and direction to positions assigned to the IKMS unit. The IKMS unit is dedicated to the effective use of systems and technologies to manage information, communications, and knowledge for new business development and contract implementation in a professional services firm dedicated to the U.S. Agency for International Development as a primary client.
This position is based in Tetra Tech ARD’s home office in Burlington, Vermont and requires residency in Vermont. Burlington is nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain between the Adirondacks and the Green Mountains and is close to Vermont’s finest ski slopes.
Responsibilities:
* Supervision of 5-7 person IKMS Team staff, including workload assignments and annual performance reviews, whose specific responsibilities involve strategic planning, systems development and delivery, operations, and knowledge management.
* Point of contact and liaison for support to business applications, intranet, websites and virtual communities, and Tetra Tech enterprise IT applications.
* Clear understanding and the ability to articulate Tetra Tech ARD’s experience and business processes such as marketing, business development, accounting/financial management, contract management, field office management, human resources, information systems management, and knowledge management and collaboration.
* Team leader in a highly dynamic team environment designed to achieve change management objectives by applying ICT systems and technology for improved productivity in business processes.
* Provides Quality Assurance and Quality Control within well-defined and agreed upon limits for meeting IKMS Team goals and objectives, articulated through a quarterly IKMS work plan.
* Meets all schedules for ongoing or planned pilot activities in support of business process change and improvements.
Essential Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in organizational development, information and knowledge management, or business process change, or BA degree and 15 years of professional experience required.
* High level proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, as well as Share Point.
* At least 10 years experience managing teams of IT and related specialists, administrative and technical staff to work effectively within a firm’s business environment.
* Strong organizational development and MIS skills with demonstrated understanding of how IT operates in service to organizational units, goals and business models in a professional services firm.
* Preference for overseas development experience, or demonstrated understanding of business processes supporting development projects.
* Experience providing effective policy guidance on business process change and technology applications suitable for a professional services firm such as Tetra Tech ARD.
* Effective oral and written communications, including demonstrated ability to communicate upward within senior management and to clients, and downward to internal teams.
* Demonstrated ability to be a leader and team builder/motivator with strategic and tactical decision making orientation; chooses good people and stimulates them to accomplish agreed objectives on tight schedules.
* Availability for 25% international travel to developing, post-conflict, and transitioning countries.
* US citizenship or a valid US work permit is mandatory
