Job Description

The Manager, Sustainability Reporting coordinates the Group’s external and internal sustainability reporting to ensure that our reporting reinforces our sustainability and community engagement strategy and aligns with best practice in the UK and across the Bank’s markets.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting

• Monitor reporting standards and best practice including the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and other UK and EU specific requirements to ensure the Bank continues to report and disclose information consistent with industry best practice.

• Project manage the Bank’s annual year end sustainability disclosures. These include the annual sustainability summary, contributions to the Annual Report, case studies, videos and reporting on the Bank’s Sustainability Aspirations.

• Contribute to the Bank’s submissions for sustainability indices such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and FTSE4Good.

• Support the Environmental and Social Risk Management team on required sustainability disclosures such as Equator Principles reporting.

Communications

• Develop and coordinate the delivery of the Community Engagement team’s annual internal and external communications plan – working closely with the Group Communications team.

• Prepare and maintain internal communication packs including ensuring all community programme and sustainability messages are updated two times per year and preparing and developing slide presentations and videos on sustainability and community engagement for use at the Group level and adapted for country use.

• Support country teams in developing sustainability and community engagement communication tools.

• Manage the sustainability content on SC.com, and design the layout for sustainability content on the Bridge working closely with programme teams.

• Engage with the Group Communications teams to identify external media, including social media, opportunities.

Other

• Collaborate across the Bank’s Corporate Affairs function to support delivery of the Bank’s Sustainability and community engagement priorities.

• Engage closely with the Group Brand and Marketing team to ensure alignment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant experience in reporting and communications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with excellent time management
  • Experience working in or with the markets where the Bank operates across Africa, Asia and the Middle East
