Consulting services for Change Management for a Financial Institution in India related to SME Trade – Internationally funded project

Educational Qualification
:
Post Graduate qualifications in economics/ finance or related fields.
Higher qualifications in International Trade would be preferable
- Specific Required Expertise
:
Experienced in undertaking market entry research for larger business organizations
Experience of working closely with SMEs
Experience in analysis of product value chains
Tasks:
- Target SME export markets, especially in developing countries where India is well positioned
- Identify the financing needs and risks of global value chains originating from India
- Develop approaches to leverage resources through structured financing involving the structuring of risk layers to be borne by the Government, FI, and private finance, as well as the phasing in of Basel II principles
- Analyse market entry issues including inter alia:
- Status of the current trade policy regime (bilateral, regional, multilateral) between countries and trading partners and possible outstanding policy issues
- Tariff regime
- Non-tariff barriers (NTBs) regime country-by-country (such as standards, sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS), rules of origin, intellectual property rights, etc.
- Trade logistics constraints
- Access to trade information and business intelligence in the Indian and Chinese market
- Effective export promotion in the Indian and Chinese market
- Access to commercial distribution networks in India and China
- Other pertinent issues constraining market entry of goods and services in India and China

General Experience
:
Total Professional Experience : min 10 Years
International experience in similar assignments would be preferable
:
Fluency in both written and spoken English
