Job Title/Grade: Market Intelligence Associate I/II/Market Intelligence Specialist (5 - 7)
Department: Business Development
Reports to: Market Intelligence Manager
As part of the USG Business Development department, the Market Intelligence team works closely with DAI’s senior leadership and specifically leadership within the USG business unit, to inform strategic decision-making by providing insight into DAI’s market, customers and competitors. The Market Intelligence team is responsible for strategic data and information capture, trend and scenario analysis, and other business analytics in support of strategic planning and execution for the USG business segment.
Function of the Position:
This is a full–time, professional position which will be working under the direction of the Senior Manager, Market Intelligence. The Associate will support the day-to-day operations of the Unit, including:
- Market and competitive research and analysis
- Data capture and dissemination
- Internal communications
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collect, update, and maintain competitive intelligence information for existing and emerging clients and competitors in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Monitor USG sources and circulate updates on new and planned procurement opportunities
- Track executive and legislative branch priorities and policy related to foreign assistance, notify relevant stakeholders of proposed or planned changes, produce recurring and ad hoc analysis
- Take lead role in individual research assignments; obtain information from internal and external sources; assess the value and write reports
- Provide rigorous assessment of the accuracy, validity, and reliability of gathered information
- Analyze and interpret information to provide insights and predictions at a macro (corporate/industry) and micro (opportunity-specific) level. Independently turn research and insight into written reports and analysis
- Work closely with senior management, business development, and technical operating groups
- Work with all stakeholders to ensure information is effectively accessed and communicated
- Participate in industry wide fora, including the Council for International Development Companies, Society for International Development Washington, US Global Leadership Coalition, think tank events, USAID events to support advocacy and to enhance company understanding of broad market dynamics
- Mentor Market Intelligence Team Interns on best practices for research and analysis
- Serve as primary liaison between the Market Intelligence Unit and the Portal & CRM Teams on technical issues, trouble shooting, and enhancements
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 5: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant administrative or technical professional experience, or a master’s degree.
- Grade 6: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant administrative or technical professional experience, or a master’s degree and 1 year of relevant administrative or technical professional experience.
- Grade 7: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant administrative or technical professional experience, or a master’s degree and 2 years of relevant administrative or technical professional experience.
For all grades:
- Ability to prioritize work under pressure and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Ability work with minimal guidance and take the lead role on individual assignments; must be self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to present analytical products to all levels of staff, including executive level
- Creative problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong organizational skills and attention
- Strong research and quantitative skills
- High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel skills) is essential
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and data analytics software such as Power Pivot, Power Query, and Power BI desirable.
