Job Description

FINCA International, one of the world's leading microfinance institutions, provides financial services to more than 725,000 clients through 21 wholly-owned and operated subsidiaries in Africa, Eurasia, Latin America and the Greater Middle East. FINCA Jordan is looking for an intern for the summer of 2009. This is an unpaid internship. However, FINCA Jordan will be providing accommodation for the period of the internship. The internship requires a commitment of 30 - 40 hours per week and for 2 - 3 months.

Tasks/ responsibilities
The main task of the Intern is to conduct market research and branch sustainability analysis for new potential branches.

He/she will also take active roles in new initiatives such as:
- Financial analysis;
- Market studies including: Islamic lending, Microhealth, and Remittances.
- Desktop research and country analysis.

Ideal profile
- MBA or graduate program candidate;
- Native Arabic speaking and excellent command of English;
- Interest and knowledge on microfinance issues;
- Excellent writing and editing skills;
- Extensive computer skills (especially Excel and access);
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and within deadlines;
- Attention to details;
- Strong organization skills;
- Self-motivation.
