The Market System Development (MSD) Manager will provide technical leadership for the team to stay abreast of market trends/changes and risks and ensure that the contractor is adapting interventions to respond to such trends/changes and risks.

About you
You will a motivated and proactive Manager with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence. You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Master in agricultural economics, business, or related studies with specialized study in market systems development or relevant field.
  • Five years of expert-level experience delivering Market Systems Development (MSD) programs and analyzing agricultural market systems and designing and implementing strategies/ interventions that apply globally recognized approaches and tools, including partnering with the private sector, to facilitate inclusive and sustainable market systems improvements in SE Asia.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining effective working relationships with private and public sector players that foster collaborative learning.  
  • Familiarity with the issues affecting the private sector in Myanmar as well as international trends in business and the economy. 
  • Experience working in related fields in Myanmar and SE Asia, preferably on USAID or other international donor-funded programs.  Experience working on Market systems strengthening and private sector preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to priorities your time.
