JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of its Public Policy Practice, Altai Consulting seeks a qualified Consultant for a migration related assignment in the West Africa region involving experience in interviews/surveys, monitoring and evaluation.
The Consultant will work under the supervision of a Project Director and carry out the following main activities: conduct interviews with key informants (mainly aid actors and national authorities involved in migration related projects funded by the Client); gather and review documents; train and supervise local survey teams; clean and analyze all collected data; draft reports for the Client; and provide technical support to partners interested in strengthening their M&E capacities and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Masters’ degree or higher in International Relations and/or Development, Political Science, M&E, Economics, Migration or related field (required).
Full proficiency in both French and English is required. Strong communication and analytical skills are needed for conducting interviews with project stakeholders, triangulating and analyzing data and writing reports. Team spirit is key. Familiarity with issues pertaining to migration and previous experience in West Africa or other challenging environments in fragile countries are an asset. Experience in international development, monitoring & evaluation and reporting is desired.
