Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTION: CREDIT Cambodia Ltd. is a microfinance institution licensed by the National Bank of Cambodia. The Institution provides micro and small loans to nearly 12,000 clients in 7 provinces throughout Cambodia. CREDIT employs 125 staff who assess, disburse and collect savings and loans to provide the capital needed for eligible clients to start and expand micro-enterprises to break out of the cycle of poverty.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES: ?Review the structure of CREDIT and work closely with the management team to improve the efficiency and competitiveness, without compromising portfolio quality and internal control. ?Provide mentoring and coaching to the Senior Management Team members to enable them to effectively lead CREDIT. ?Monitor the financial performance of the institution and work with the Senior Management Team to address problems early and ensure the Board is kept informed of developments. ?Develop and build the capacity of the internal audit committee. ?Be informed about industry developments and provide advice to Senior Management to enable CREDIT keeps up with current best practice, events and awards. ?Support the CREDIT Senior Management in obtaining grants and loans and in managing the Institutions? liquidity. ?Report to the Board regularly on the health of the institution, raising any issues, which need addressing in a timely way. ?Keep track of actions pending and follow up regularly to ensure timely implementation. ?Actions pending may be decisions made by Ex Com or Senior Management, implementing requirements / recommendations of external or internal audit, board, shareholders, NBC or lenders. ?Advise the Senior Management Team and Ex Com, about any decisions which may adversely affect the financial performance or mission of the institution. Keep the Board informed of the outcome of these recommendations. ?Support the CREDIT senior management in implementing requirements of the NBC, external audit, rating assessors, lenders, donors and shareholders. ?Support the Operations Department to develop CREDIT?s marketing strategy, including branding and product development. ?Provide advice on recruitment of management positions (branch managers and senior managers). ?Support the General Director in writing funding proposals and reports. ?Support the Finance and General Manager in updating the CREDIT Business Plan.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: ?A minimum of 5 years experience in Microfinance or Banking, including a minimum of three years field experience in an MFI. ?Graduate degree in related field (finance, economics, development or business administration). ?Strong inter-personal and communication skills, including cross-cultural experience, preferably in a developing country. ?A commitment to World Relief?s mission and its holistic approach to serving the poor. ?Demonstrated spiritual maturity and servant leadership approach. ?Ability to mentor, empower and release others in leadership. ?Demonstrated ability to write proposals and reports to donors, lenders, board, shareholders etc
