World Vision began operations in Kenya in 1974. For over 40 years, we have served alongside the poor and oppressed in the country, as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people.
We partner with communities, the Government, sponsors, donors and corporations to help the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and enjoy life in all its fullness. With our advocacy work, we enable the voices of children and their communities to reach decision makers, who have power to change unjust policies and practices.
World Vision Kenya (WVK) has developed its 2021 to 2025 strategy with a goal to contribute to the improved and sustained wellbeing of 8,827,654 children, including 2,521,600 children reached directly, out of which 1,487,744 are identified as most vulnerable children. The strategy focuses on child learning and household resilience; water, sanitation and hygiene; child protection and participation; community engagement and sponsorship programming; disaster management and emergency response.
Here’s where you come in:
As the National Director, you will strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of World Vision Kenya’s FY21-25 Strategy, in alignment with the Government of Kenya priorities and our global strategy, Our Promise.
In performing this role, you will be an effective leader locally, an effective member of the broader World Vision International Partnership, and will model the organisation’s principles of Twin Citizenship to ensure high ministry quality and overall organisational effectiveness.
As a leader, you will contribute to partnership life and unity, by acting as both a local and global representative of the organisation. You will ensure the country’s operations and operating models maintain the Partnership’s focus on Child Well-Being Outcomes and Aspirations as they apply in the Kenyan specific country context, maximising the impact in the field while maintaining efficiency as wise stewards of entrusted resources.
You will model a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry and integrity; leading by example and providing spiritual guidance to staff on the Vision, Mission and Core Values of World Vision.
